Trying to Outrun the Bear - The West versus Russia.

Updated: Aug 23, 2022

It's always a good idea to start with a story.

Once two competing political leaders were walking through the woods when they attracted the attention of a huge bear. The bear noticed them and started to walk towards them.

The first leader immediately opened his backpack, pulled out a pair of sneakers and started putting them on. The second man looked at him and said: “What are you thinking? You’ll never be able to outrun that bear!”

“Oh, I know that, I don't have to outrun the bear, I only have to outrun you.”

As a parallel and in the present circumstances the two leaders can be visualised as the Collective West and Russia. Both of them trying to outrun the bear which signifies social and economic danger and possibly even death.

The well prepared Russians relying on their tremendous military capabilities, abundant natural resources and global goodwill are definitely better organised and prepared for the conflict on one hand.

An over confident and arrogant West led by American and European elites depending on their financial and geopolitical muscle, to wage war using Ukraine's manpower and land, on the other hand.

The two are now in a destructive race, but in which the Russians are clearly able to demonstrate their ability to outrun the collective West.

The collective West carrying Ukraine on its shoulders, inspite of its dominance in global media and social media platforms have been able to garner support from only 18% of the world's countries in supporting Ukraine and sanctioning Russia.

The economies of the collective West are in decline, experiencing recession and facing the prospect of a depression. Rampant inflation amidst growing food, energy and material shortages that are mandating rationing. The gloomy situation is fermenting unrest, triggering strikes and protests, shaking governments and toppling leaders.

The bear of destruction is not only mauling the collective West but Russia too is hurting, but to a much lesser extent.

The collective West with their limited manpower and significantly weapons stockpile are imagining a fantasy and praying that Russia will run out of soldiers weapons and ammunition soon, the 6,400 sanctions would take effect and Russia be felled by the burden of military and sanctions war.

Alas it remains only a fantasy as Russia is raking in record profits, demilitarising not only Ukraine but all of Europe. Russia is demonstrating its military prowess and economic resilience and winning more friends and influence across the world like never before.

The longer the conflict drags on the more Ukraine will lose and the more impotent the West will appear and become. A resurgent Russia will create a new global block that will seriously challenge America, dethrone the European Union, come on par with Chinese economic power (not in size but in impact).

All this due to a series of continuing self goals by the collective West.

Indeed a strange suicide by the West.
