If you want to screw it up, ....

Usually bosses work just as hard if not harder than their team members. The difference is, bosses are burdened with greater responsibilities, have to manage the work environment, secure resources etc. Little wonder bosses tend to be very busy.

Because they are short of time, both quality and timelines of any assignment they directly handle tends to go for a toss.

Most organisations are hierarchal in structure and thus the boss is not accountable to their juniors for their own shortcomings and failures. Generally bosses cannot be openly questioned without adverse consequences.

So if you want to screw something up, have it implemented by the boss. However if its you who is being held accountable for results, the last thing you want to do is let the boss handle or implement it.
